The Sherwood Island
Connector is a multi-lane highway
that intersects with the Connecticut
Turnpike (I-95) at Exit 18 in
Westport.
South of the Turnpike,
the Connector runs into Sherwood Island
State Park. North of the Turnpike, it runs
to the Post Road (US 1). |
In 1935, it was part of a larger plan for a
4.5 mile Sherwood Island Parkway from the
Merritt Parkway (at a planned Exit 43)
to the Post Road and Sherwood Island State
Park.
Local opposition
prevented the construction of Exit 43 and
the Parkway. |
